Valley of the Angels holds a girls’ choir program in which 60 students participate. They receive singing classes every Wednesday, directed by two from the music company Music Time. Aaron Marchena is one of the teachers and she was who prepared the girls for the competition “Asi es mi Guate 2018,” which took place May 23rd, 2018. Valley of the Angels’ choir and music program has allowed our students to participate annually in many festivals and has transformed the lives of the girls at Valley, as it has allowed them to channel their energies and frustrations into creative expression and music.

“We do not only form minds; our mission is to help our students in their relationship with God, forming their hearts, helping them be better disciples, and to have them truly come to know and love the Lord.”

-       Father Michael Della Penna, General Director of Valley of the Angels

“This year I joined the choir and I have learned how to share with others and sing in harmony with the group. To be in the choir is so fun. There are lots of smiles and our teacher, Aaron, has shown us that we should always hold our heads high, and to always smile when it is time to sing, which is now part of the attitude I have towards life.”
